SENIORS! Graduation is just around the corner! And with all of the excitement comes a chance for you to weigh in on what you want to hear on the big day. This Thursday and Friday ONLY, during lunch, Student Government will have ballots for you to vote on the song to be sung by our Golden Bear Choir at graduation.  Please spread the word and vote at the Student Government table across from the Activities Office.  If you cannot vote during lunch, please see Ms. Thibault in Room 329 before 2:30 to complete your ballot!

Join the Unbearably Funny Comedy Improv Troupe this Friday for their last show of the season. Doors open at 6:30 and the show starts at 7pm. $6 for students and $8 for adults. Help support theatrical arts at Bartlett and come find out who the special surprise guests are.

A Spotlight on Women's History: Marie Curie is the only woman to ever win two Nobel Prizes. Her first award was for physics for her work on spontaneous radiation with her husband, with her second being in Chemistry for her studies of radioactivity.

All Mixed Choir Students:  Please meet at the Theatre Entrance at 12:30 today leave on the bus for the ASD Ed Center performance.  (If you can’t remember whether you turned in your field trip form, please see Mrs. Blackwood this morning!)

Please congratulate the following choir students their 3rd Quarter Choir Student of Excellence Awards: Aryel Williams, Susan Vang, Jasmine Falefuafua, Kathrine Miller, Valana Castro, Austin Phothiboupha, Tony Sa'o, Kaitlynn Yang, and Sunshine Lee.

Several music students proudly represented Bartlett High School in the Anchorage School District Regional Solo and Ensemble Contest on March 4th. All vocal soloists earned “Excellent” ratings. And for the first time in many years, Bartlett Choir has an ensemble that qualified for State!  These students earned a “Superior” rating and the chance to compete in the ASAA State Solo and Ensemble Contest on May 12-13.  Congratulations to: Selena Aspen-Neyland, Christianna Cliver, Dasha Crosby, Katherine Donnally, Talliah Fa'aliga, Jasmine Falefuafua, Kathrine Miller, Tanyia Siana-Salanoa, Chris Thompson, Shyler Trepanier, and Paul Widman.

Hey Bartlett! Remember the fabulous Karaoke Buy Out back in November? Well, it's back up and ready for the Spring Karaoke Buy out on Thursday, March 30th during 3rd period. Tickets including your 3rd period permission slip are $5 and will be sold across from the Activities Office during lunch this Thursday through next Wednesday. If you have any questions, please see Ms. Thibault in room 329.

Bartlett’s Peer Leadership class invites you to join in on our 4th quarter project – Step in/Stand Out: an initiative to increase positive vibes in our building. Different student groups and clubs will be sponsoring a positivity building initiative each week through the end of the year. Information on how you can join in to make a Bartlett a happier, more positive place will be in our weekly announcements. If your club, team or group is interested in participating, let Mrs. Vano know!

The 17th annual BHS Mathematics Invitational is this Friday after school. Come out and show your Golden Bear Pride and let's bring home the trophy!! Pizza, Prizes and a trophy!! That's right Bears - you heard right - Friday the 24th of March is the BHS Math Invitational. Do you have what it takes? Then come after school Friday March 24th! Ask any math teacher for more details!  If you need a refresher on how to think out of the box come by 337 D, Mrs Cunningham's room, to get practice on old problems all week at lunch! Practice - at lunch, and we'll see you Friday after school!

If you are interested in the Alaska Pacific University's Early Honors Program, there will be an Open House this Wednesday, 3/22 from 5:30-7:30pm. Students will meet faculty, speak with current Early Honors students, and find out about financial aid options. See your counselor for more information.

On Thursday, March 30th is UAA Day at Bartlett. UAA Day is a way for UAA faculty members to come into our school for a day to meet with and present to students about their programs. This is a way to bridge students and faculty before seniors enter the institution and will familiarize students with the culture of college. There will be 4 departments from UAA coming to our school. The departments are Period 1: Engineering; Period 3: Geology Studies; Period 4: Computer Networking Technology; Period 6: Honors College. If you would like to sign up to listen to a particular department, please see your school counselor to arrange this.

Attention seniors! Are you an incoming UAA freshman for the fall 2017? Do you need to see an advisor? Do you want to register for classes? If so, please sign up to go to "Step Into UAA" day on Friday, 4/7. Step into UAA is an on-campus event designed to help you find classes that are right for you. In order to be eligible for this field trip, you MUST take the Accuplacer test at Bartlett on 3/30. Please see your counselor to sign up and for more details!
