A Spotlight on Women's History: In 1851, Sojourner Truth delivers her famous "Ain't I a Woman" speech at a women's rights convention in Akron, Ohio. The former slave spent 40 years of her life preaching a message of equality for all people.

Students! Are you new to Anchorage within the last 3 years? The Anchorage Museum will be hosting 6 open studio workshops that will work with participants to create self-expressive visual art with a master artist. See your counselor for more information.

Prom is near! This year’s theme is a Masquerade Ball-- so be sure to wear your masks! Prom will be on April 29th, 8:00 pm to 12:00am at the Alaska airlines railroad depot. Ticket prices are set at $60 for single and $80 for a couple. Tickets at the door will be $100 for couples and $80 for singles. Sales will begin on April 3rd and end on April 28th. See you there!

The Alaska Middle College School allows students in grades 11 and 12 to take University of Alaska college courses while simultaneously earning high school credit. There is no cost for students to take these college courses. There will be several open houses/information sessions regarding the Alaska Middle College School. The next one of these will be at the Bartlett High School Auditorium tonight from 6-8PM.

Do you love to sing and dance? Bartlett High School Bear-a-Tones are looking for energetic and enthusiastic new members for the 2017-2018 school year. Auditions will be held Thursday, April 6 from 2:10 to 3:10 in the choir room. If needed, please make sure to arrange for transportation home after school so you can stay for the entire audition. If you have not already spoken with Ms. Blackwood about auditioning, please see her today at lunch or after school.

Students not in a choir class this year who are interested in auditioning for Concert Choir 2017-2018, please see Ms. Blackwood in the choir room to schedule an audition time and pick up audition information.

Bartlett's Track & Field team is Stepping In and Standing Out this week, taking the lead in our second week of adding more positive vibes into our school.  Each member of the team, including the coaches, have a goal of saying "Thank You" to at least 7 people per day at Bartlett. They are challenging you to join them in this effort to increase the gratitude vibes at Bartlett. All you have to do is track your thank you's to see if you can meet or exceed 7 per day. Let people know when they do something, big or small, that you are grateful for and look for opportunities to express it!

Attention seniors! Are you an incoming UAA freshman for the fall 2017? Do you need to see an advisor? Do you want to register for classes? If so, please sign up to go to "Step Into UAA" day on Friday, 4/7. Step into UAA is an on-campus event designed to help you find classes that are right for you. In order to be eligible for this field trip, you MUST take the Accuplacer test at Bartlett on 3/30. Please see your counselor to sign up and for more details!
