Good morning, Bartlett! Please take a moment today to congratulate the new state champion in humorous interpretation--Xavior Love! And to all our drama, debate and forensics state tournament competitors, congratulations on a great tournament and season! Please plan on meeting in Ms. Woodward's room at lunch on Tuesday to discuss our post-season awards ceremony and celebration. Go Bears!

A Spotlight on Black History: In 1965, in Title III of the Higher Education Act of 1965, Congress officially defined an Historically Black Colleges and Universities otherwise known as HBCU as an institution whose principal mission was and is the education of African Americans, was accredited and was established before 1964. The first HBCU, Cheyney University in Pennsylvania was founded in 1837. Today, there are 107 HBCUs in the United States, including public and private institutions, community and four-year institutions, medical and law schools. At Bartlett we have three HBCU alumni: Mrs. King - Tennessee State University, Mrs. McGrew -Jackson State University, and Mrs. Taylor-Winchester- Grambling State University and Virginia State University.

Juniors and Seniors! Do you need some testing practice before you take your SAT or ACT? Frontier Tutoring will be offering a FREE practice ACT and SAT test on Saturdays, 2/25 and 3/4 in the library. You must sign up in their website. See your counselor for more information.

Students! Would you like to learn more about the programs and degrees from Charter College? They are having a College Fair on Friday, 3/3 from 9:00-1:00pm. Please see your counselor for more information.

Students! Are you interested in the performing arts in singing, drama, and dance? The Young Americans, a performing group based in Southern California will be doing a 3 day workshop in UAA from 3/6-3/8. Please see your counselor for more information.

From the library ~ We are STILL looking for the artsy ones of you out there. Come paint a bookend just for the fun of it. It's an opportunity to relax, hang out with a buddy, and create. If you want to do a little more we're having contest. The contest has not changed but we have extended the date! Submissions are not due until the 22nd of March. Young or old, come by some green and gold! St Patrick’s Day is coming up, Bartlett High School’s JROTC program is selling lucky Oreo pops. Buy an Oreo pop for yourself or buy some for your friends. They will be selling them for 3 for $2. Come down to main place during lunch on Monday, February 27th to Friday, March 3rd to order yours. They will be delivered on March 8th during 5th period.

It’s Blood Drive time again. The Blood Bank of Alaska will be at Bartlett Friday, March 3rd. The earlier you return your completed paperwork, the better selection of donation times you have to choose from. If you are sixteen years or older and weigh 113 pounds or more, join the Golden Bear tradition of giving and pick up donation paperwork from Mr. Grenier in Rm 414A.  Go Bears
